I missed out on the VAR's promotional sale THAT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME $2k. I've sullied any possibility of contracting with them for overflow work. (Too easy to run what I had installed) I'm good with my VAR but I'm still a thief beneath the congenial rhetoric.

It is all good now but I didn't follow thru on my initial commitment to run legal SW. Dessault staff were pleasant and happy to sell a seat of SW. Hat in hand I make the call to Dessault and purchase (VAR is aware of my indiscretions and can't/wont talk to me). I was gonna save the cash because I've already a "working copy" installed. Some time later I received an email C&D followed by hard copy both with evidence of my nefarious activity. Till then I was going to hone my skills on another cracked license. The project did hit. It was my intent to purchase SW should a design project I was chasing come thru. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I don't find SW intuitive so what do I do? Pirate a copy to self-teach till the work hits. Fast forward a few years I get asked to pick up some slack at a shop down the road. In 2014 I decided to take a SW class at the community college to learn something new and exercise the brain. I putz around with Autocad 14 when I need to knock out some work. Please allow me to share a tale from Du'Mass the Pirate.Įngineering and design have not been my primary source of income for over 15 years. There have been several posts on r/solidworks regarding cracked SW.
